Edward was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2001 and became a QC (now known as KC) in 2017.  Over the course of his career as a barrister, he has represented parties (including as leading counsel for the U.K. government) before the U.K. Supreme Court, the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights. 
 
He has been variously described by the Chambers UK Guide to the Legal Profession as “a Titan”, “a phenomenal advocate” and “a master of strategy”.  He was an author and editor of Dicey, Morris and Collins on the Conflict of Laws.  Edward read history at Cambridge University.
